Common questions
More guides: 2027 open enrollment, no subsidy, self-employed, small business.
Does it cost anything to work with you?
No. Insurance companies pay advisors like me, so my help costs you nothing.
Do you help with Marketplace subsidies?
My focus is people who don't qualify for a subsidy, like many self-employed people, higher earners, and small business owners. If the quick quote shows you'd get a large tax credit, HealthCare.gov is probably your best route, and I'll tell you that honestly.
What's the difference between a Marketplace plan and a private plan?
Marketplace plans are priced by age and location, and anyone can buy one. Many private plans ask health questions, so healthy people can pay less, while some conditions may raise the price or limit what's covered. We'll go over those details before you apply.
When is open enrollment for 2027?
On HealthCare.gov, it runs from November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. Enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1. Many private plans can start any time of year. See my full 2027 guide.
Do I have to wait for open enrollment?
Marketplace plans require open enrollment or a qualifying life event, like losing other coverage or having a baby. Many private plans can start any time of year.
Can you set up coverage for my small business?
Yes. I help with small group health plans, plus dental, vision, and supplemental benefits you can offer your team.
What if my state isn't on your list?
Send me a message anyway. I'll tell you what I can do and point you in the right direction.
